Majistrate is a true veteran of the D&B / Jungle scene, having credits to his name back as far as 1994 on the legendary Juice and Splash labels. Still going strong to this day he was emerged over the past few years as one of the leaders of the jump up scene and his tracks can be heard smashing up dancefloors the world over. ‘Big Deal’ is an absolute monster. Menacing horns scales, build the tension on the intro, which combine with a heavily processed cheeky vocal sample... any ideas? A speaker slicing bassline is carried along by frantic drums and bass stabs all of which result in a sure fire devastation. ‘Ideas’ confirms that when Jump Up is done properly, there’s nothing quite like it, as 50s B-Movie samples give way to a hypnotic bass workout. With plays already on Radio 1 from Grooverider as well a club spins from Hazard, Heist. Nicky Blackmarket with more bound to follow!
